Records indicate that the last of the tanks which were used for storage of flammables in the operation of a service station was removed in 1986 when renovations and an addition were done to the present Cosgroves package store. Prior tank removals are indicated on the copies attached. 2. All flammable storage tanks have been removed from the Spinale property at #38 & 40 Bridge Street during 1985. No storage tanks were replaced as the current owner/operator no longer is in the business of selling gasoline. 3. The property at #35 bridge Street was formerly used as a gasoline service station. Our records indicate that two storage tanks were discontinued and filled with concrete. 4. The property at #31 Bridge Street was formerly used as a gasoline service station. Our records indicate that all tanks were removed during 1985. The Old Colony Petroleum Company ceased operation and their lease has since expired. A permit was issued by the Salem Fire Prevention Bureau, on May 1, 1979 to S. Martin & Sons of Waltham, Mass. to remove three 4,000 gal. steel tanks, which were formerly used for thestorage of gasoline at 36 Bridge St. Salem, Mass. These tanks were removed to Whitney Barrell Co. Woburn., Mass. for salvage purposes. Remaining on site are two 550 gal. steel tanks. One is empty and was formerly used for waste oil. One is used under a permit for 550 gallons of heating fuel oil. No furthur license will be required at this location if the Sunmark Industries wishes to drop their license.
