Massachusetts State Building Code
The renovations will require conformity with the Massachusetts State Building Code (MSBC), Sixth
Edition. Directly applicable Articles and Sections include:
Article 34: Repair, Alteration, Addition, and Change of Use of Existing Buildings
In the case of this structure, the original use would is classified as Mixed Use (Non-Separated)
Storage (S1) & Mercantile (M). The proposed use is classified as Mixed Use (Non-Separated) Storage
(S1) & Mercantile (M) requirements in 3404.0 Requirements for a continuation of the same use
groups.
