Re: Engineer Statement for Hayes Residence, 13 Hancock St., Salem, MA
- Solar Roof Mount Installation
I have verified the adequacy and structural integrity of the existing 3 Main roofs (one
layer shingles): 2" x 6" rafters at 16"c-c., having roof slope distance approx.l9'-0" with
rafter span 14'-6", pitch 35 deg.; for mounting of solar panels and their installation will I
satisfy the structural roof framing design-loading requirements of the Massachusetts I
building code—780 CMR Residential Code 8th Ed.
For the installation of the solaz mouting, the Unirac Solazmount rails will be anchored to
the rafters with L-foot supports with Eco-Fasten Green-Fasten and CP-SQ Bracket
located at 32" sp. on the center of the rafters and will be securely fastened to the rafters at I
with 5/16"x 3 '/z" SS lag bolts as shown on drawing PV-A03. The mounting system has j
been designed for wind speed criteria of 100 mph Exp. B and ground snow criteria of 40
psf. Landscape modules have vertical rails with horizontal unistrut channels below as
shown on drawing PV-A02.
The Photovoltaic system ad the mounting assemblies will comply with the applicable
sections of tbe Residential Code and loading requirements of roof-mounted collectors.
Thereby, I endorse the solaz panel installation and certify tbis design to be structurally
adequate.
