In response to a complaint from the Salem Health Department this Department
inspected the premises located at 42 Cabot Street on December 15, 1977.
The inspection revealed the following conditions that ate a hazard to the
Public Safety and Welfare.
1. The roof over the front porch is in a state of collapse and requires
immediate attention.
2. Mortar missing in various areas of the stone foundation requires repointing.
3. Downspouts are missing in various areas and require replacement.
4. Section 616.5 of the Massachusetts State Building Code requires that
handrails be provided in all required stairways.
Plases contact this Office within fifteen days of receipt of this letter
with a schedule of when work will commence.
