186 Essex Street Unit 2 (October Moon): Discussion of proposed-signage.
SRA Decision
At its meeting on July 9, 2014, the SRA voted 5-0 to approve a June 25, 2014
DRB recommendation to approve the installation of signage at 186 Essex Street
Unit 2 (October Moon).
Recommendation
At its meeting on June 25, 2014 the DRB voted 5-0 to recommend approval of the
proposed signage at 186 Essex Street Unit 2 (October Moon) on the condition that
the applicant work with DRB Member Glenn Kennedy to further revise the sign.
Staff Comment
The applicant did work with Glenn Kennedy and revised his original proposal based
on his feedback and approval. The enclosed materials reflect those revisions.
Proposal for June 25 DRB Meeting
The applicant proposes to erect an 83"x21" (a little over 12 sq/ft) sign to the face of
the existing awning. It will be made primarily of di-bond and have raised letters. The
sign will be externally illuminated with a low-wattage LED light bar, which will sit
above the sign.
Staff Comment
The proposed signage is compliant with the City of Salem's sign ordinance.
