Directly applicable Articles and Sections include: Article 34: Repair, Alteration, Addition, and Change of Use of Existing Buildings In the case of this structure, the original use would is classified as mixed use (R2) multiple dwellings. The proposed use is classified as (R2) 8 unit residential building. In this instance repair and restoration of existing building must proceed with compliance to the MSBC requirements in 3404.0 Requirements for Continuation of the same use group or Change to A Use Group Resulting in a Change in Hazard Index of one or less.
