Dear Mr. Greenbaum:
In accordance with the Public Notification Procedures of the Massachusetts Contingency Plan
(MCP) 310 CMR 40.1403(3)(c), we are hereby notifying you of the filing of an Immediate
Response Action (IRA) Completion Report for McGrath Park located at 46 Marlborough Road in
Salem, Massachusetts.
The IRA was conducted to control an Imminent Hazard condition associated with elevated
concentrations of lead detected in surficial soils collected from the northern wooded area and
wetland areas of McGrath Park. Specific IRA activities included the installation of a temporary
construction fence to restrict access to the areas associated with lead contaminated soils.
Additionally, signs were posted on the fence to advise the public of the access restriction and
the presence of lead contamination. A copy of the IRA Completion Report is available via the
