Mr Lam, This Department has received numerous complaints regarding the condition of your
property and the operation of an illegal car repair shop.The Fire Department has also visited with
me at your property. Each time we have visited your property there have been a minimum of two
and sometimes three cars that are unregistered.There is also an unregistered boat and a large
amount of debris.
An addition has been added to the garage which violates Salem Zoning and was constructed
without a building permit. The existing garage is in bad shape with a masonry wall in danger of
collapse.
Therefore, under the Authority of the Mass State Building Code 780 C.M.R section 115 you are
required to contact this office within 7 days to arrange for a required inspection. Failure to
arrange for this Inspection will result in City Ordinance fines and a possible complaint in Salem
District Court.If you feel you are aggrieved by this order, your Appeal is to the B.B.R.S in
Boston.
Addittionally,per City Ordinance 24-21, you are directed to remove or have registered and
inspected the two vehicles that are in the yard within 15 days .

The Community Impact Unit recently attended the South Salem Neighborhood
Association meeting. We received complaints concerning 100 Broadway Street. The
complaints centered on a boat and an unregistered motor vehicle parked in the back yard.
The yard is also stacked with trash, lumber and debris. The CN did go by the property
and made observations consistent with the complaints. The property is part of the used
car lot and garage located at Canal Street and Rose Street. Could you assist us in this
matter? We would appreciate it.
