As ,a result of an inspection or an incident observed by aii ,inipector
of the Salem Fire Department, the following violations of Mass. 'Gener
Laws and/or Salem Fire Code were found to exist, as followst
Apparent defective fireplace and chimney situated in structure
at. 231 and 25 Broad Street. Salem, Mass. Fire place_bri.ck and the
{ chimney at the roof line are in advanced state 'of fatigue.
Said fire places are not to be used and repairs made to chimney.
Violation of Chapter 148, Sec. 28D and Salem Fire Code Sectinn P-14

Chimney Problem
Dear Mr, Powers,
The apparent defective fireplace and chimney at 2A and 25 Broad
Street in Salem will be repaired within the 14 days which the Health
Department wants. We have already contacted a chimney man mason to do
the work and he expects to be able to do the job this week, but in any
case , the work will be done within the 14 day period.
