Box 380 Manchester, MA 01944 Re: Well Water Analysis Dear Mr. Russell: Enclosed are the completed test results of the Baker's Island well water samples collected on August 17, 1989 by a member of this department. The lab analysis performed by S.P. Engineering revealed that only the "Coast Guard Upper Well" passed the criteria for acceptable drinking water. Last years analysis performed by Salem and Beverly Water Supply Board also revealed that only the "Coast Guard Upper Well" met drinking water standards. It is the position of this department that the remaining sources not be used for drinking water or cooking. The presence of coliform in water indicates the possible presence of pathogenic organisms. The Health Department recommends contacting a professionally recognized Environmental Consulting Firm for any assistance they could provide in obtaining safe drinking water from wells currently not meeting drinking water standards. The Department respectfully requests you notify all property owners and/or tenant of the laboratory results. If you have any questions please contact this office.
