Dear Owners,
This office is in receipt of a complaint from an Attorney representing the abutters to the 311 Bridge lot.The
complaint is regarding the current use of the property. The property is located in a R-2 zone and was
grandfathered as a used car lot and office; and a small automotive repair garage towards the rear. To change the
use of a Grandfathered lot, a Special Permit(from the Salem Zoning Board of Appeals)would have been
necessary. Currently,the use of the property has become unclear but there are two semi-trailers that have been
there for months, snow plows, a triaxle dump and trailer,containers and other items including a large sailboat.
None of these items is consistent with a used car lot.
You are directed to cease the storage of trucks and miscellaneous equipment within 30 days of receipt of this
notice. Your right to Appeal this order or to apply for a Special Permit,is to the Salem Zoning Board of
Appeals.
Failure to address this matter will result in Municipal Code tickets and further enforcement actions. If you have
any questions,please contact me directly.
