Re: Relocation of Business
Jim,
A Special Permit was granted in 2013 to allow Motor Vehicle General Repair at 164 Boston
Street. At that time, the Petitioners stipulated that:
1. "There will be no fuel sales or bodywork on the property, and that there will be
no modifications to the exterior of the building."
2. "Aside from the two parking spaces on the dedicated front entrance driveway, all
vehicles will be parked and/or stored inside the building."
The Permit was granted subject to the following terms, conditions, and safeguards:
1. "The petitioner shall comply with all city and state statutes, ordinances, codes
and regulations. "
2. "All requirements of the Salem Fire Department relative to smoke and f re safety
shall be strictly adhered to."
3. "A Certificate of Occupancy is to be obtained."
4. "Petitioner is to obtain approval from any City Board or Commission having
jurisdiction including, but not limited to, the Planning Board."
A transfer of your business operation, SS Automotive, Inc., from 83 North Street to 162 Boston
Street would not require a new Special Permit. The `Occupancy' and `Use' would remain the
same. Please note that all stipulations and conditions cited above would remain in effect.
