Mr.Cucurull,
This department was asked by the Salem Fire Prevention office and your tenant Ryan McShay to review
our files for the unit Rave Auto Imports, Inc.presently occupies at 164 Boston Street. It was explained to
Mr. McShay via telephone that our office has no record of an Occupancy Permit for this location when
the building changed uses from a wood working shop to the auto repair shop,Rave Imports Inc.
Additionally these spaces have no Certificates of Inspection, as required by Section 110 of the State
Building Code, and possible required MDC trap does not show in our records..
It is pertinent that an immediate solution be determined to rectify this situation. A Registered
Massachusetts Architect's stamped code review of the building is required by this office so as to allow it
to be apparent that the unit meets the Massachusetts State Building Code and any other municipal and/or
state regulation. You have been advised in the past of your responsibility regarding this matter from
Building Commissioner Mr. St. Pierre, and to this date no action has been taken.
Please contact our Department upon receipt of this notice to inform us of your course of action going forward.
You are hereby ordered to begin to rectify these conditions within 14 days of receipt of this notice.
Failure to do so may result in further actions being brought against you, up to and including the
filing of criminal complaints at District Court. If you feel you are aggrieved by this order,your
appeal is to the board of Building Regulations and Standards in Boston,Massachusetts.
