An on-site inspection was conducted on January 24,2017 by Elizabeth Gagalds,Senior Sanitarian for the Board of Health. The inspector witnessed a squirrel climbing down the side of the house,then back up into a hole in the soffit.Additionally,there are other areas of the house which appear to be in disrepair and offer entry points to rodents. As of a site visit March 9,2017 the conditions at the property remain unchanged. Raccoons,rodents,etc.are considered a neighborhood nuisance and community health hazard. The property must be inspected and treated by a licensed exterminator to abate any animal infestations that exist.All holes and other entry points from the exterior of the house must be repaired and closed up to prevent animals from entering,and the property must be kept in a clean, sanitary manner to prevent harborage conditions from arising. In accordance with Mass General Laws,Chapter III,Section 123 you are ordered to retain the services of a licensed exterminator and suppress any rodent or animal population in the house within fourteen(14)days of receipt of this order and a copy of this invoice must be forwarded to this department upon completion of the extermination. Should you be aggrieved by this order,you have the right to request a hearing before the Board of Health. A request for said hearing must be received in writing in the office of the Board of Health within 7 Days of receipt of this order. At said hearing,you will be given an opportunity to be heard and to present witness and documentary evidence as to why this order should be modified or withdrawn. You may be represented by an attorney. Please also be informed that you have the right to inspect and obtain copies of all relevant inspection or investigation reports,orders,and other documentary information in the possession of this Board,and that any adverse party has the right to be present at the hearing.
