exemptions or limitations set forth in the Historic District's Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts
Ordinance.

Description of Work Proposed:
• Replacement-in-kind of front shop windows
o The Total bar width is 7/8”.
▪ the interior of the bar is ¼” on the flat center of the face
▪ the curved contoured ogee is a 5/16 cut that is then 7/8” deep to the glass.
▪ the exterior is the same ¼” face with just the low-profile chamfer bevel.
o This is the upper picture on the original attachment for a 1-3/4” thick sash. Existing muntin
is 1" wide, 1/4" face (1/8" wider than new), low profile glazed bevel, not Low-E. Existing
sash width is 2" (1/4" wider than new).
*NOTE: Non-Applicable due to being in-kind window replacement
Should any changes to materials, design or outward appearance be determined necessary, Applicant must
submit a new application for review.
Upon completion of above work, please notify Historical Commission staff as final sign-off is required
to document compliance with this Certificate and approved plans.
