We are proposing to build a shed dormer on the south side of the existing gable roof that is approximately30'-10"long.The home at 3
Milk St is in the R-2 Zoning District. The existing lot and building is non-confroming. This dormer will continue the non-conformity but
is within the existing footprint.It is also setback from the front and rear of the buidling.

The Undersigned hereby petitions the Board of Appeals to varythe terms of the Salem Zoning Ordinance and allow the project to be
constructed as per the plans submitted,as the enforcement of said Zoning By-Laws would involve practical difficultyor unnecessary
hardship to the Undersigned and relief may be granted without substantiallyderogating from the intent and purpose of the Zoning
Ordinance.

The proposed dormer addition shall not be more detrimental than the existing nonconforming structure to the
neighborhood. The proposed shed dormer is on the side of the building which is toward the middle of the lot. It is
also setback from the front and rear of the building. It will not impact the traffic flow,safety of the neighborhood,
utilities,public safety, or drainage.The shed dormer is in keeping with the character of the neighborhood. It is a
proportionate addition to a small lot and building.
