WILLIAM MUNROE Cs BUILDING INSPECTOR =+ r SALEM, PRA. — RE : 18 BERTUCCIO AVE . 1Fcn SALEM, MA. n,z :,, .,rn v o C2 y n xY =+ cs Dear Mr . Munroe , Recently a Mr. Bill Blenkhorn, the city health inspector , inspected the property at 18 BERTUCCIO AVE. SALEM, MA. and by now has informed you of the illegal apartment at this address . He said at that time that the owner , a Mr . Nieolo J . Omelli and myself would get a registered letter in the mail about the problems with this property and the apartment which he has been renting for the last aprox. ten years or so without any occupancy certificate. ' At this time I still have not received any letter . However, I feel that I should let you know that he has gotten ahold of Harbor Reality at 111 Derby St . in Salem and that they are starting to show the house to people . On Sunday the 17th of last month they brought a woman and her daughter by to see the property. Harbor reality were the people who rented the place to us two years ago without the proper permits . They knew this , because they put it in the lease that the property did not have an occupancy certificate . That means that they haven' t bothered to check to see if he got one yet , or they just don ' t care . Either way, they are showing the property for rental, and I believe that this is unfair to the people that they are showing it to . The proper certificates haven ' t been obtained yet , nor has any of the repairs been made yet . And I was told that he has rented the place already again. Mr . Onelli it appears ( since it was in my lease two years agoabout the absence of an occupancy permit) has no intentions of obeying the law and getting the proper certificates . Also by having these people in to view the house, he doesn ' t appear to be planning on doing any of the necessary repairs(of which I believe some are supposed to be mandatory) to the house . Also from the impression that I got from the reality company and the people they were showing the house to, it looks as. if they are showing this house to people under the impression that it is a one family house . (which it is , but which Mr . Onelli has illegally taken it upon himself to alter) . And finally Mr . Blenkhorn asked me to tell you when I had moved out of the house . As of this date I have moved out . Thank you E . FRILEY e - t a CITY OF SALEM HEALTH DEPARTMENT BOARD OF HEALTH Salem, Massachusetts 01970 ROBERT E.
