Also, other tenant-landlord laws are being broken at this address. On August 1,2007, I rented a room at the above address from Feisha Zhao, the landlord of this property(please see attached lease). I agreed to rent a room at the property for 600 dollars per month. This house is zoned as a 2 family. Feisha Zhao is renting the bedrooms in the upstairs unit individually. There are 5 bedrooms in the upstairs unit.As of September of 2007, all 5 were rented out,with individual leases,to 5 separate unrelated tenants. I moved out of the house on March 1, 2008. As of April 10, 2008, Feisha Zhao is still operating the unit as an illegal rooming house, as she is still posting ads on craigslist.com for 4-5 rooms available (please see attached ad). There were several occasions during the winter in which no heat was provided. Also, during the winter,the landlord would not shovel or salt the ice on the front sidewalks,driveway,front steps, or rear steps. Furthermore,the smoke detectors were not working properly and there was no sprinkler system installed in the unit, in accordance with the law. And finally,the landlord does not provide the tenant with a statement of present condition after collecting the security deposit, does not place the security in escrow, and does not provide the tenant with a receipt showing the amount of deposit, name, address,name and account number of bank, etc. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I agreed to rent a room at the property for 600 dollars per month. This house is zoned as a 2 family. Feisha Zhao is renting the bedrooms in the upstairs unit individually. There are 5 bedrooms in the upstairs unit. As of September of 2007, all 5 were rented out, with individual leases, to 5 separate unrelated tenants. I moved out of the house on March 1, 2008. As of April 10, 2008, Feisha Zhao is still operating the unit as an illegal rooming house, as she is still posting ads on craigslist.com for 4-5 rooms available (please see attached ad). There were several occasions during the winter in which no heat was provided. Also, during the winter, the landlord would not shovel or salt the ice on the front sidewalks, driveway, front steps,or rear steps. Furthermore,the smoke detectors were not working properly and there was no sprinkler system installed in the unit, in accordance with the law. And finally, the landlord does not provide the tenant with a statement of present condition after collecting the security deposit, does not place the security in escrow, and does not provide the tenant with a receipt showing the amount of deposit, name, address,name and account number of bank, etc. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
