The inspection revealed that the transfer station located on Danvers Road (sometimes referred to as Swampscott Road) was operating in compliance with 310 CMR 18.00 "Regulations for the Installation, Operation and Maintenance of Solid Waste Transfer Stations". During the inspection the operator of the transfer station informed the inspector from D.E.Q.E. that the only material that was being processed since October of 1987 originated from the Salem Housing Authority and the Salem School System. The inspector was also informed that commercial refuse had been discontinued as of that same date. should any conditions as stated above change, The City of Salem shall be required to notify the Department in writing and monthly tonnage reports shall to be submitted to the Department.
