So we are looking at a ten week period. We can try to get as many assents as possible, but all nineteen is unlikely, as I expect Larry and his sister, who have a small share will object, no matter what, and some of them don't pick up their mail, etc. If it were a normal type of sale, a License with Assents can usually be done in a few days. My guess is that the Petition will get processed quicker than four weeks, as the Clerk told Mark she would do what she could, and we will work on getting what assents we can. So we will need to extend, to allow for the License. I am calling Larry's lawyer this afternoon about removing the trash heap, etc. Let me know. Elaine 9/25/2010 Page 1 of 1 Joseph R. We have tried to set up a meeting, but none of them are very cooperative. If they don't come to the meeting, which I will set up, giving then notice of time and place, they are not doing themselves any favors. I expect that they have nothing to back themselves up, and on the Court Date, the Judge may very well allow the License, which will be our position. On this day Myself Deputy Harbormaster,Mulligan along with Assistant Harbormaster Scopa responded to the dock and found life above male along wifh a female who had no ID and walked off'the property when we arrived. The male who became known tousas Joseph Sholmith told us he had permission from Mr. Tantilio to work on the sailboat and take it from the dock as soon as it was repaired. Mr. Shohnith was run by the Salem police and no outstanding issues. It was in our opinion that the sailboat had no repair work done to it and,it was apparent it was being lived on. Mr.Tatnilio was contacted and instructed the boat must be. removed in one weeks time and that under no circumstance can anyone live aboard it. Mr Sholmith was advised of this and instructed to leave the boat: he complied. The property continues to be a mess and in particular, there are still two unregistered vessels and unpermitted docks. The two vessels and dock need to be removed within ten days of this notice. Failure to remove the vessels and docks will cause the City to remove the vessels and docks and lien the disposal costs against the property. Also, please let us know when the property will begin to be cleaned up Tho as St.Pielrre G -'IPi Director of Inspectional Services lURira , aEPI pp pcc lOoAmes Street Jun 27 37 hP In Salem, MA 01970 RZ'S'c"iV[:0 CITY 01= ,twgS.S June 19, 1986 City Council City Clerks Office 93 Washington Street Salem, MA 01970 RE: Zoning Ordnance Dear Sirs: We are asking that the committee hear our problem regarding a business being run at 11 Ames Street, Salem, MA. The property in question, a single family home, is located in a R2 district. The person responsible for this does not live at 11 Ames Street nor in the area or even in the city. He has torn down trees and bushes, filled in approximately 120 square feet of wet lands, built a dock and shed without any permits. He is now running a lobster business from this property which increases the noise level and traffic. on Ames .Street. These noise levels usually take place in the early morning hours. There is also more than one person using these facilities along with employees working in this yard daily. We wrote to the building inspector on May 28, 1986 explaining in full the problem we have. He said that he would answer us in writing. As of today he has not contacted us. Building Inspector One Salem Green Salem, MA 01970 Dear Sir: I am asking that your office investigate the property at +:C11-Ares`'St:reet, Salem, MA regarding the zoning laws. There is a—business=being_run at this address and I would like to know if there has been a permit issued for this address. If not, what may I do to have it removed? The property at 11 Ames Street has approximately 500 lobster traps in the yard along with a work shed to accomodate 2 helpers. The buoys used with these lobster traps have- severalJdiffereAt markings. Leaving me to believe that there is more than one lobsterman using this area for business. There was approximately a 12 foot section of wet land filled in on this property and a ramp and dock added. The dock crosses my property. I would like to know if a permit was issued for this ramp and dock. If not, what may I do to have it removed? I thank you for your time. Sincerely, 4teen G. Bilodeau — cc: file 74 e(. 1. S. G. It is the opinion of this office after consultation with the City Solicitor that storage and repair of lobster traps does not constitute a business. Sale of said traps or their product would constitute a business and would warrent further action by this department. Furthermore the person in question is licensed to have unlimited traps and has permits for the ramp and float in question. No further. action by this department is warrented in our opinion . at this time. Should you have any questions pertaining to our discussion, ;feel free to contact us. Please be advised that you may appeal our decision to the Board of Appeals. Respec , g ra quin, Maurice M. Martineau Asst. The following"was noted: - A large number of lobster traps are stored on the ground at the rear of the property. This department is of the opinion that the above situation makes it difficult to maintain the area in a sanitary condition and is conducive to odors and the breeding and harborage of insects and rodents. It is requested by this department that corrective steps be taken and if you have any questions please feel free to call this office at 741-1800. PETER GIFFORD HARBORMASTER Mr. Lawrence Tamilio, 08/17/2010 557 Cabot St. Beverly, Ma 01915 Dear Sir, Due to the following reasons, the float permit issued to the float at the rear of 11 Ames St has been revoked. 1: Nobody lives at this address. The property is in disrepair and abandoned. 2: You do not own this property and therefore have no standing to attach anything to it. 3: The float is in disrepair and se:-.ured with dock-line not chain. 4:The float is not marked with a 111.1niber as per conditions. 5:You have not maintained a viahlc telephone record with this office in the event that we need to reach you should the float break loose. As the float is virtually worthless, and due to our past conversations, and the approach of another storm season and winter, it is my intention to co.,nbine with the building inspector, under the City of Salem's clean it or lean it program, and remove all the derelict boats and floats and debris behind 11 Ames St. and to lean the property to recover any costs incurred by the city.
