The ensuing communication shall serve as this Department's follow-up to our November 7, 2012
telephone conversation regarding a complaint received by this office alleging the operation of a Rabbitry
business being operated at your property located at I1 %z Albion Street in violation of City of Salem
Zoning Ordinance: Ordinance 3.0 -Use Regulations in an R-1 District. Business uses are not allowed in
an R-I zone,thus in non-compliance with Section 3.0 of Zoning.
As noted during my site visit with Mr. David Greenbaum of the Salem Health Department on
Wednesday,November 7,2012 observations were made during the visit of multiple rabbit cages,hay
bales and animal fencing were noted in the rear yard of the property. During said phone conversation you
stated you to breed rabbits for sale and auction as a business, thus placing your property in violation of
City of Salem Zoning Ordinance: Ordinance 3.0 - Use Regulations in an R-1 District.
Said violation must be cease and desist immediately upon your receipt of this notice. Failure to do so
may result in further actions being brought against you, up to and including fines and the filing of
complaints at District Court. Please contact this office immediately upon receipt of this letter
A re- inspection of this property is scheduled for Tuesday,November 20th at 11:00 P.M.
If you feel you are aggrieved by this order, your Appeal is to the Salem Zoning Board of Appeals.

This office received a complaint regarding a possible business being operated at your property located at
11 Y�Albion Street, it was investigated on Monday, December 5th, 2011; this would be in violation of
City of Salem Zoning Ordinance: Ordinance 3.0 -Use Regulations in an R-1 District. Business uses are
not allowed in an R-1 zone, thus in non-compliance with Section 3.0 of Zoning.
Observations were made during the visit that multiple rabbit cages,hay bales and animal fencing were
noted in the rear yard of the property.
Under the provisions of 780 CMR, Section 104.6—Right of Entry, of the State Building Code, access to this property
must be granted for the purposes of this inspection. If this property has rental units, these tenants must be notified in
advance of this inspection, so that access to these spaces may also be accomplished.
This inspection is scheduled for Tuesday,November 13th at 11:00 P.M.
You are hereby directed to contact this office immediately upon receipt of this letter. Failure to respond to this
notification will be construed as non- compliance, and as such an Administrative Search Warrant will be sought,
so as to allow the lawful inspection of this property.
If you feel you are aggrieved by my zoning interpretation, your Appeal is to the Salem Zoning Board of Appeals.
If you feel you are aggrieved by the Building code sections, your Appeal is to the Board of Buildings, Regulations
