Dear Mr. Lanzillo;
On the February 18 I was called to visit this property to investigate ongoing construction. Upon
arrival I found a thirty yard dumpster in the driveway that was almost full. From the front door it was
obvious that the upper floor had been totally gutted, and there was evidence that this was also being done
on the first level. I was able to get the attention of the man that was working on something in the basement,
and informed him that due to the lack of permits this work was to be stopped. I did give him verbal
permission to finish the repair he claimed to be doing to the heat system, and to secure the premises;with
the understanding that no further work could be done until such time as this job was properly permitted.
Under the provisions of 780 CMR Section 118.1 the lack of permitting is an unlawful act, sufficient to
cause a Stop Work Order under CMR 780 Section 119.
A homeowners exemption will not be granted due to the extensive nature of the work involved,all
permit applications to be filed only by licensed tradesmen.
