It is hereby certified that the Salem Historical Commission has determined that the proposed:

as described below will be appropriate to the preservation of said Historic District, as per the requirements
set forth in the Historic District's Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts Ordinance.

Description of Approval of Work:
1. Remove existing vinyl siding and restore wood clapboards and trim;
2. Install shutters to replicate dimensions and design of original shutters as seen in historic photos;
3. Modify windows on south elevation per plans by Seger Architects dated 2/9/22 (see attached image);
4. Replace existing glazing with diffused glass in portico on south elevation;
5. Replace existing railings and lattice on rear exterior egress staircase per plans by Seger Architects
dated 2/9/22 as shown on attached image of east elevation.
6. New paint colors approved in concept only. Colors to be stone gray for body, cream for trim, black
for shutters and red burgundy for doors. Final colors approved as follows:
Body – Benjamin Moore CW-685 “Ambler Slate”
Trim – Benjamin Moore CW-5 “Harwood Putty”
Shutters – Benjamin Moore HC-190 Black in gloss
Door - CW-345 “Travers Red”
Upon completion of work, please notify Historical Commission staff for final review and sign-off of
Certificate.
