Description of Work Proposed:
Maintenance of areas of foundation by repointing where necessary resulting in no change to the appearance.
• Repoint masonry building – remove existing mortar 3/4" min
• Mortar should be removed by hand or with small pneumatically powered chisels to avoid damage to masonry.
Mechanical tools shall not be used on vertical joints.
• Wash joints
• Repoint Type N or O mortar, white Portland/lime/course sand
• Match existing joints profile and tooling
• 600 detergent clean with stiff bristle brush and garden hose
• Mortar to match existing color, grain size, texture, and tooling/pointing style.
There will be no changes in color, material, design, location or outward appearance. Non-applicable due to being in-
kind repair. Upon completion of above work, please notify Historical Commission staff as final sign-off is
required to document compliance with this Certificate and approved plans.
