It is hereby certified that the Salem Historical Commission has determined that the proposed:

as described below will be appropriate to the preservation of said Historic District, as per the requirements
set forth in the Historic District's Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts Ordinance.

Description of Approval of Work:
1. In-kind repairs to damaged chimney to match existing brick color, dimensions and bond pattern
and mortar composition;
2. Replace 3tab asphalt roof with GAF Slateline designer shingles in “English Gray”;
3. Install new copper gutters and downspouts on south elevation of main house and north and south
elevations of rear addition with the following conditions:
a. Downspouts to be fabricated in smooth round copper;
b. New gutter on main house to be half-round copper placed over existing cornice molding;
c. New copper gutters on rear addition to be in half-round or K-style profile.
Upon completion of work, please notify Historical Commission staff for final review and sign-off of
Certificate.
