Hi Jen,
Yes, that is correct.
Signs do not typically go before the SRA for final review. They are signed off by the Exec. Director of the Authority, which is Tom Daniel. I spoke
with him earlier today and he said he sees no reason why we should treat this sign any different from others.

Design Review Board Recommendation
282 Derby Street
Small Project Review – Installation of New Windows and Awnings, and Façade Paint
Meeting Date: March 31, 2021
Members Present: Paul Durand, Chair, David Jaquith, Glenn Kennedy, Catherine Miller, Marc
Perras, Helen Sides, J. Michael Sullivan
Members Absent: None
Decision: At a special meeting of the Design Review Board (DRB), upon a motion duly made and
seconded, it was unanimously voted to recommend approval of the proposed façade work as designed
and conditioned herein.
Referenced Plans and Documents
1.Application materials submitted by Patrick Schultz on March 10, 2021. Materials include
photographs of existing façade, awning specifications, paint specifications, renderings of
proposed façade, and window details.
2.Revised renderings submitted by Jennifer Tran on March 30, 2021.
3.Staff Comments dated 3/17/21.
Condition of Approval: The DRB recommends incorporating the following condition:
1.Consistency with Approved Design/Plans: Should the applicant determine that the project may
not be completed as presented and conditioned herein, he/she/they shall return to the DRB to
review proposed modifications prior to making any changes in the field.
2.Dimensions of Faux Wall: The applicant shall shorten the height of the faux wall over the entry
so that it does not extend downward beyond the tops of the middle row of windows – keeping
the wall in line with the bottom of the new awnings.
3.Façade Paint Color: The applicant shall paint the brick below the windows and the faux wall
above the door using C2 Paint, in C2-517, ‘RAJ’ (red), with a semi-glossy finish.
Findings
1.Consistency with Design Standards and Guidelines: This project is consistent with the design
guidelines and standards.
2.Modest Façade Changes: The proposal features modest changes to the façade – new windows
to replace the existing replacement windows, paint on a portion of the façade, and a faux wall
panel above the entry door. The modification of architectural features on the primary façade
are minor in nature.
3.Visual Improvement of Façade: The project will visually improve this section of façade along the
primary frontage of this multi-tenant building. The proposed awning shape will match that of
the adjacent neighbor which improves the visual cohesion on the building.
Signature of the DRB: By the signature below, I certify that this recommendation accurately reflects the
actions of the Design Review Board.
