Dear Mr. Moschella:
I have reviewed your proposal to revise the approved elevation plans for 14 New Derby Street to
create a new door on the rear elevation to allow for safe access and egress to the upper level
residential units as depicted on the building permit plans submitted in conjunction with your
request for Building Permit B-20-965.
The revision is modest and upon review and consultation with the Chair of the Design Review
Board, I have found that the modified plans are acceptable given that the modification is on the
rear elevation, it's creating a doorway where there likely used to be one, and it's facilitating
egress from the upper level residential units
Should the project need further modifications from the SRA-approved plan set, dated 3/26/20,
please contact Kate Newhall-Smith at knewhallsmith6c,salem.com to determine if SRA and DRB
approval is necessary.
