Dear Owners
Upon a recent inspection I have discovered that you have created an illegal apartment in your
basement in a R1 single family neighborhood with out obtaining any building permits at the
address listed above. To avoid further fines you must apply for a building permit to remove the
illegal apartment and then remove the illegal apartment from the basement.
Please be advised the fines for Zoning and Building Code Violations are described below
First offence $50.00
Second offence $150.00
Third offence and every offence there after$300.00
If you are aggrieved by this order, your appeal is to the Board of Buildings, Regulations and
Standards in Boston for Building Code Violations and for Zoning Violations your appeal
Is to the Salem Zoning Board of Appeals .
