(978) 745-9595 KIMBERLEY DRISCOLL MAYOR THOMAS ST.PIERRE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC PROPERTY/BUILDING COMMISSIONER July 30, 2021 Richard Kiley Jr. 500 Loring Avenue Salem ma. 01970 Re: Building Code violations: Dear Mr. Kiley, I received and investigated a complaint regarding your garage at your property. While going up the front stairs, a board came off of your front stairs which I laid back into place. This garage and porch steps have been in the same condition for at least two years and the garage even longer. The garage, as is , constitutes a" dangerous and unsafe structure"under the building code and needs to be torn down or some serious repairs started immediately. The stairs I will give you 30 days to have the front stairs repaired or replaced. The code references are the State Building Code 780 CMR sections 101.2 through 101.5 for the front stairs and section 116.1 through 116.3 for the garage. If you feel you are aggrieved by the section about the front stairs, your Appeal is to the B.B.R.S in Boston. There is no Appeal from the unsafe structure section. Please contact me directly if you have any questions. Sincere3y,n._ a Thomas St.Pierre
