Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts Ordinance. District: McIntire Address of Property: 169 Federal Street Name of Record Owner: Brian Peters Description of Work Proposed: • Removal, full restoration, and reinstallation of all present historical windows - 23 total, 6 over, 6 window sashes. 9 on first floor, 12 on second floor, 2 on third floor. All work to be carried out by Window Woman restoration firm beginning on date TBD (pending approval). • Window sashes to be fully stripped of all paint and existing glazing putty. Glass panes to be removed, cleaned, with broken or period inappropriate panes replaced, and reinstalled. Any deficiencies or rot repaired. • Glaze exterior re-puttied with linseed oil putty. Bronze weather stripping installed. • Sashes to be primed and painted to match existing colors. Hardware will be polished or replaced as necessary. • Windows will be reinstalled upon completion of above restoration efforts. Upon completion of above work, please notify Historical Commission staff as final sign-off is required to document compliance with this Certificate and approved plans.
