A field observation was performed to document the existing framing of the above mentioned
address. From the field observation,the existing roof structure was observed as Composition
Shingle roofing over roof plywood supported by 2x6 Rafter @ 16" OC. The roof is sloped at
approximately 40 degrees and has a max rafter span of 15' 8" between supports.
Design Criteria:
• 2015 International Building Code w/780 CMR
• Basic Wind Speed Vult= 127 mph (Vasd= 99 mph), Exposure B
• Ground Snow Load =50 psf
After review of the field observation report,the existing roof framing supporting the proposed
solar panel layout has been determined to meet or exceed the requirements based on our
structural capacity calculations in accordance with applicable building codes. Therefore, no
structural upgrades are required.
Both SNAPNRACK SERIES 100 UL; FLASHED L FOOT and FLUSH MOUNT STANDOFF PV racking
systems have been evaluated for this roof using the loads listed above. Both systems have been
approved for installation and verified to meet SnapNRackTM specifications,with penetrations as
specified on the plan set.
