It would also provide an opportunity to recognize them for their recent achievements or awards. This is not for the purpose of job review but to provide for a professional meeting opportunity to get to know each other and to understand what they do. L. Ramdin stated that according to their contract, staff may have to be paid for their attendance from 4 PM until after the meeting. There was discussion about whether staff should be invited or paid as this is something that other professionals do as part of their jobs. According to Councilor Furey, other boards have similar functions and are very productive. Dr. Poremba will look into this. L. Ramdin plans to implement a new program in Salem to promote health, something like a"Healthy Salem". He has approached SSU for assistance in developing a"brand" for the project. Dr. Poremba suggests that we simply start by providing residents with a monthly schedule of what health related events are being offered in the community, something like "Healthy Happenings"which builds on the "Happenings"theme already developed in Salem for Holidays and Halloween. All programs can then be added to this. M. Fair has been investigating the new EPA regulations for lead paint removal. At this time he feels these regulations are too strict and C.
