November 2009 Activities
Disease Prevention
• In contact with North Shore Pulmonary Clinic regarding active cases and case
contacts.
• Investigated communicable disease cases and reported to the MDPH.
Meetings/Clinics
• DOT Monday-Wednesday-Friday for two active TB cases. DOT Monday through
Friday for two active TB cases.
• Attended the NSCAEP meeting at the Peabody DPW.
• Attended Monthly North Shore Public Health Nurses meeting to discuss H1 N1
plans.
• • Participated in one MDPH telephone conference call between local health and
MDPH
• PPD tested 3 household contacts of new active case. Three positive results.
Referred to NSPC. CXR negative. To be seen at NSPC on Dec. 2nd
Seasonal Influenza and Pneumonia Clinics
The Salem Board of Health held the following Clinics:
A City of Salem Employee Clinic was held at the Board of Health on
November 5,2009 237 employees were vaccinated.
Fire and Police Flu Clinics were held on November 12, 2009 at their
Headquarters. 39 employees were vaccinated.
7 Home visits for Flu Shots were conducted for the month of November.

• H1N1 Update for November
• An H1 N1 Clinic was held at City of Salem Annex on November 14, 2009.
163 Pregnant women, household contacts of pregnant women and infants
under 6 months were vaccinated.
• NSEPC met with coordinator Joan Searle. Discussed procurement needs for
H1N1 Clinc.
