Approximately five yards of soil were stockpiled to the right back corner of the offices (see figure 1 for the stockpile location). Four samples were taken in different depths and areas of the pile in order to get an accurate representation of the pile. Each of these samples were scanned with an HNU Model PI-1101 photo - ionizer in order to detect the presence or absence of volatile hydrocarbons associated with gasoline contamination. Because of the freezing temperatures, the samples were brought back to the office and allowed to reach room temperature before analysis. All HNU values.are "head -space" values. Ms. Nikki Korkatti 204 Lafayette Street Salem, Ma 01970 Dear Mr. Chisholm May 4, 1990 With respect to your request for information relative to properties on or adjacent to #35 Bridge Street, our records indicate the following: 1. The last of the tanks which were used for storage of flammables in the operation of a service station at #36 Bridge Street were removed in 1986 when renovations and an addition were done to the present Cosgroves package store. Prior tank removals are indicated on the copies attached. 2. All flammable storage tanks have been removed from the Spinale property at #38 & 40 Bridge Street during 1985. No storage tanks were replaced as the -current owner/operator no longer is in the business of selling gasoline. 3. The property at #35 bridge Street was formerly used as a gasoline service station. Our records indicate that two storage tanks were discontinued and filled with concrete. 4. The property at #31 Bridge Street was formerly used as a gasoline service station. Our records indicate that all tanks were removed during 1985. The Old Colony Petroleum Company ceased operation and their lease has since expired. The tanks which were removed were leaking, however a cleanup was done and the property is now apparently free of any contaminant due to the leakage. Signed, Robert W. Approximately five yards of soil were stockpiled to the right back corner of the offices (see figure 1 for the stockpile location). Four samples were taken in different depths and areas of the pile in order to get an accurate representation of the pile. Each of these samples were scanned with an HNU Model PI-101 photo - ionizer in order to detect the presence or absence of volatile hydrocarbons associated with gasoline contamination. Because of the freezing temperatures, the samples were brought back to the office and allowed to reach room temperature before analysis. All HNU values are "head -space" values.
