The City of Salem has funds to install new water fountains at various parks throughout Salem. These water
fountains are designed for accessibility. The City has contracted with a firm under Statewide Contract to procure
the water fountains, which will be installed by City staff. One of the fountains is slated for the the Common. The
City has budged for a fountain with dog bubbler at this location. The existing fountain is not functional and will
be removed.
The attached examples show 3 models that are more historic or architectural. For this park, the City is proposing
using a Model M-C76A bubbler with pet fountain in black finish and polished brass finish bowls. Information
(dimensions and specifications) about the choice of fountain is attached. The model has options: the pedestal/arm
has different colors(black, brown, or green) and the bowl has different finishes (brass, chrome plated, or powder
coated). Examples of these are circled in the catalog.
We are seeking approval of the water fountain, and input on the final choice of style, color, and bowl.
In addition, the City of Salem is proposing to install a gate at the Salem Common temporarily to address
vandalism issues. The City is seeking approval of the temporary gate while it studies more permanent solutions.
Information about the proposed gate is attached.
