The mariner Jonas Adams built our home in 1740- not in its current location but at 339 Essex Street, the site of
the Salem Athenaeum.Apparently,it was a tavern for a while, called "Sign of the Eagle." The house was then
moved to its current site on Botts Court around 1860.
We are excited to refresh 7 Botts Court in a way that both honors its long history and enhances its present day
appeal within the neighborhood. Our color choices are largely consistent with most of Salem's historical periods,
including the 19th century variations of lighter trim and darker shutters.Taken together, we feel these
improvements will emphasize the home's historic attributes and preserve its health for many years to come.
