It is hereby certified that the Salem Historical Commission has determined that the proposed:

as described below will be appropriate to the preservation of said Historic District, as per the requirements
set forth in the Historic District's Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts Ordinance.

Description of Approval of Work:
o Install AC mini-split system. AC condenser to be in location at rear of property under the existing
stair if permitted by code. Piping shall run from condenser to basement of house then internally to
feed interior units. Screen condenser from view on Griffin Place with square lattice fencing
painted to match trim color.
o If both conduits cannot be placed in interior walls, Commission permits one single AC conduit to
be installed on south corner of southwest facing building façade (Griffin Place) tight to existing
downspout and to turn horizontally to terminate above window. Paint conduit cover to match
existing.
Upon completion of work, please notify Historical Commission staff for final review and sign-off of
Certificate.
