It is hereby certified that the Salem Historical Commission has determined that the proposed:

as described below will be appropriate to the preservation of said Historic District, as per the requirements
set forth in the Historic District's Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts Ordinance.

Description of Approval of Work:
Restore building per drawings by Terrat Design dated September 1, 2020 with the following changes:
1) Paint colors: body in “Blue Gaspe”; trim in “Herbal Escape”; accent color on bay panel and doors in
“Yorktowne Green”; window sash and doors in black; porch ceiling in “Wedgewood Gray”;
2) Bathroom vent to be louvered style;
3) Garage doors to be option A (see attached);
4) Main roof to be Owens Corning Oakridge architectural shingles, color “Onyx Black”;
5) Porch roof and bay window roof to be in cedar shingles left natural to weather;
6) Porch lattice to be wood lattice in either square pattern painted black or vertical wood slats painted to
match trim;
7) Gutters to be aluminum half-round with round downspouts. Gutters shall be painted to match trim
color; downspouts painted to match body color;
8) Two (2) new awning windows on south elevation to be 30” x 24” with vertical panes;
9) New wood fencing to match design, detail and dimensions of abutting fence at 31 Broad Street;
painted “Essex Green” to match existing fence.
Upon completion of work, please notify Historical Commission staff for final review and sign-off of
Certificate.

indicated. THIS IS NOT A BUILDING PERMIT. Please be sure to obtain the appropriate permits from
the Inspector of Buildings (or any other necessary permits or approvals) prior to commencing work.
