set forth in the Historic District's Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts Ordinance.

Description of Approval of Work:
▪ Replace fencing with new solid board fencing (after the fact):
o New fencing installed on southeast corner of Essex Street and Flint Street to be modified
as follows: posts to be angled cut below height of board fencing and painted red to match
fence color; 1x4 cap with cove molding to be added on board fencing to match detail of
fencing at 380 Essex Street.
o New solid board fencing installed on Essex Street to be modified with cap and molding to
replicate detail at 380 Essex Street.
▪ NOTE: Applicant to install mockup of cap and molding detail for review and approval by
Commissioners Pattison and Joyce before final modifications are completed.
Upon completion of work, please notify Historical Commission staff for final review and sign-off of
Certificate.

indicated. THIS IS NOT A BUILDING PERMIT. Please be sure to obtain the appropriate permits from
