We are installing a Mitsubishi ductless mini-split system to heat and cool the third floor of our home. The third
floor has no heat, and we use window units to cool in the summer. The heat pump will be installed on the side of
our home(see photo 1). It will be on a stand that is 12 inches high,and the dimension of the unit itself are 22"
high x 3 1"wide x I I"deep. The heat pump will be covered by decorative wooden plant stand or planter, painted
to compliment the house(see photo 2 for example), so that it will not be visible. The only visible change will be a
conduit that runs from the heat pump to a point 2 feet below the third floor windows. The conduit will be painted
to match the house(see photo 3).
The heat pump produces half the noise of the AC window unit(30dB vs 60dB)and the new arrangement will be
more visually appealing.
