KIDNEY & CO, INC. getalrWorkers 41 OSBORNE STREET • TELEPHONE(978)744-2875 • FAx(978)744-2252 •SALEt.4,MAO,970 •jbtidneyic verzon.nei GUTTER & WATER TABLE CONTRACT Bowditch Place Condominium May 30,2018 35 Flint Street Salem,MA 01970 Attn:Carol Solomon Dear Ms.Solomon, As requested we are quoting you or,the following work: Replace water table on the west facing side below gable: • Set a Staging to span the water table to work the entire length • Existing water table will be removed and replaced with in-kind materials (galvanized metal) • New galvanized water table will tie into wall section with a 3a"hem and lock • All metal will follow the profile of the existing • New water table metal will be clipped to the wood below with blind clips fastened with screws • New metal will need a coat of paint shortly,painting is not included in this quote • Freak staging down • Clean up debris at the end of each day Replace OG gutters on the WEST side only,2-Sections: • Work off of a ladder stage(North side-flat roof side)and pipe staging on opposite side(South]of rear gable to remove and replace OG gutter in-kind • Remove the existing copper gutters and hangers on the main house • Remove 1 course of asphalt roofing shingles above the.gutter • Install new 16oz copper OG gutters to mimic the exact profile of the existing gutters • Gutters will be custom built in J.B.Kidney&Co.Inc shop prior to installation • Ice and water shield will be used to cover the seat of the gutter after the gutter is removed.This will protect the woodwork until the gutter is installed.A rosin paper slip sheet will buffer the ice and water and new copper gutter,allowing the gutter to expand and contract with the temperature swings • A 3"flange will be bent to the pitch of the roof to properly flash the upper asphalt roof to the OG gutter • I"X I ig"solid copper bar will run along the face of the gutter to give the gutter its strength.The same stock of copper bar will be used to make the hangers with a twist r All seams,end caps and outlets will be thoroughly soldered • 2-sections of gutter will go from the gable on the west side to the outside miter.A two-foot section will turn the corner and be thoroughly soldered to the existing,to make a good connection to the existing gutter.This will allow for a more efficient transition into phase 2 and 3,replacing the remainder of the gutters around the perimeter of the building Water will pitch to the outlets that will be replaced with new 4"outlets draining into the existing downspouts to get rid of the water quicker • The gutters will be completely fabricated in the shop prior to installation • A l6oz custom copper set flashing will be installed under the gutter with a 2"tip stand behind the back of the gutter,turning down the face 3!8 of an inch.This is a back up)insurance policy for the gutter After the flange is fastened to the roof boards above the gutter a l6oz copper drip edge and new course of asphalt shingles will be installed to transition from the shingle roof to the new OG gutter • Any soffit,fascia board,ornamental dental blocking and moldings will be replaced in-kind before the gutter can be installed All new wood installed,including all of theabove will be primed and painted at the end of the project All debris will be cleaned up at the end of each day,old copper and any other metal will be recycled at the time of removal If it is determined that more than 30%:of the wood under and behind the gutter is compromised and needs to be replaced,this must be done before the gutters can be installed.Labor time,plus materials needed,will be added to the final payment upon completion of the work. Total cost of the job will be: $21,920.00 Terms: $4,31W.00 clue with signed contract,20% $8,NAA(l due half way through the job.40% $8,768.00 due at the completion of the work.40% We will invoice you for payments listed above.
