The house is currently medium gray(similar to Ashley Gray from Benjamin Moore) with cream trim and dark teal shutters and window grids. The foundation is granite in the front section of the house and brick in back. Our first choise is red: Combustion, semi gloss, by California Paints. The trim, glossy white. The five windows wit h shutters on the front face of the house, the door and the window grids will be painted glossy black (Apature Benjamin Moore) There are three other houses nearby with this red color: 19 Howler st(behind Federal St,visible from Federal St), 6 Federal St Crt(front section of the house is brick, the back section is this red), 16 Crombie St(visibile from Norman St) Our neighbors colors; 173 is a Newburyport Blue (medium blue purple) with peach trim, 177 is a brick building w ith black trim. Directly across the street are two blue houses. Surrounding us are a light green, light yellow, medium yellow and yellow ochre, white, and more blues. There are two red houses on the block, 159 and 183. Preserve Services will be doing the work. See quote. Notes on the building from Historic Salem: it was origonalally a one story house built by Joshua Cross around 17 90. It applears that a subsequent owner, Nathaniel W. Osgood, added the second and thrid stories around 1830, probably changing the style of the house to Greek Revival.
