1)Roofing: current 3-tab asphalt shingles are old, falling down and failing. We need to reroof the building in order
to secure the building from the elements and would like to use the Enviroshake composite cedar shake roofing
which is designed to "authentically replicate the look of natural weathered cedar roofing materials,but improve
upon their performance in terms of weather resistance,resistance to environmental stressors,and overall
longevity." This closely matches cedar shake shingles seen elsewhere in the McIntire District but without the fire
hazard and severe cost impediment. More information about this product may be found at the following link:

accompany this application. We will also be glad to bring samples of this roofing material to the Historic
Commission hearing meeting.
2) Chimney Repair: current chimney is in critical need of repair. It is bowed, leaning and full of masonry cracks
that pose a cabon monoxide health hazard. After consulting with a mason, it has become apparent that we to take
down and rebuild the chimney.The rebuilt chimney will be identical to the current chimney in scale,material and
construction.Mortaring will be replicated in joint size,method of application and joint profile,per the Historic
Commission's guidelines.
