An application is being submitted to the Board of Appeals for the following reason(s):
My existing property at 157 Boston Street is a legal non conforming single family residence in a B2 zoning district.I am proposing to get a special
permit to convert this existing structure into a two-family residence.The footprint of the existing structure will remain the same.The lot size is
(40x89x34x85).The property was foreclosed upon over a year and a half ago and has been vacant until I purchased it last month.It needs a lot of
work to bring it back to its former glory and I am looking forward to making this my home as the owner-occupant of one of the units.I do not need
all of the space for myself and would like create a second unit associated with my property to help defray ownership/renovation costs.
If allowed to convert my property to a two-family,1 plan to install two off street parking spaces.I will need a variance from parts of section 5.1 of
the zoning code that would relieve me from the need to have three spaces.Currently,my property has no off street parking spaces.I would add
these two off-street spaces(one deeded to each unit),which would improve the off street parking situation for my property.
For this reason,I am requesting:
[true]Variance(s)from provisions of Section 5.1 -off street parking of the Zoning Ordinance,specifically from Dwellings require 1.5 spaces per
dwelling unit or a min.of 3 spaces in my proposal.I am requesting relief that would allow me to have only 2 off-street spaces.
Currently there are no off-street parking spaces for my property_However, I have never had an issue parking in front of my house on the street.
