Dear Owners,
As a result of the recent fire, the rear egress hallway as well as several units were
completely or substantially damaged. The structure has 26 units and only two egresses(front
and rear). The rear egress was completely destroyed. This lack of an egress makes the building
unsafe to occupy and therefore the occupancy of the building has been revoked. It was my
understanding that the building was empty. It was just last week , I became aware that an
individual was still occupying one of the units. This is a serious building code violation and is a
life safety issue. This individual needs to be removed from the building immediately. We
understand that you are working with Insurance and with design Professionals to begin the
permitting and rebuilding process.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
