Existing system riser, feed mains, FDC, and all pipe and sprinklers outside of scope of work are to remain. 5 — Design Methodology: All new sprinkler piping to be steel schedule 10 with grooved fittings or steel schedule 40 with threaded fittings. The scope of work includes a single tenant space on the basement level and 1st floor only. All other areas are not in contract. Concealed spaces above existing ceilings appear to be noncombustible (installer to confirm). All combustible concealed spaces (if any) in scope of work shall be filled with noncombustible insulation. All areas housing sprinkler pipe shall be maintained at a minimum temperature of 40 F. All areas are calculated per NFPA 13 2013 to Ordinary Hazard group 2 ( .20/ 1,500 sqft max). The quick response area reduction allowance is applied to both calculations. Pipe schedule is determined using hydraulic calculations. Basement sprinklers can be spaced to a maximum of 130 sqft. 1st floor sprinklers can be spaced to a maximum of 100 sqft. Hydrant flow test information used in calculations in more than 12 months old.
