NARRATIVE May 2, 2019 The following is to provide the SFD with a narrative fire alarm system report witch satisfies CMR 780 of the 8th Edition, sec 907.0. The fire alarm system has been based on information defined by the NFPA 72, Mass. CMR 780 This three story wood framed building and is about 36 feet tall (12 feet per floor) will have three units in all. The fire alarm system will be a FireLite ES5OUD, an addressable system with backup batteries. System smoke detectors to be installed in common area basement per NFPA 72 guidelines. Sprinkler System 13R will be monitored for flow, tamper and low street water PSI. All bedrooms will have a listed low frequency sounder, FACP strobe only and an outside strobe at the outdoor annunciator. All notification devices will be mounted at 82 inches centered from the finished floor The FACP will be located in the basement mechanical room. A UL listed fire radio will connect to our central station. This condo has no common area except the basement so an annunciator wilt be used with a heated enclosure mounted on the front of the building Smoke detectors & combo smoke/CO detectors (local) installed in individual units are 110 VAC tandem wired with back up battery per NFPA 72 guidelines. These detectors will be installed and serviced by the electrical contractor. MYSTIC ALARM SERVICE Sequence of Operations for fire alarm system The fire alarm system at 12 Mall Street Salem Mass. will operate as follows: Upon activation of a smoke detectoror sprinkler water flow switch, the fire alarm panel will trip the notification appliance circuit and set off all of the horn/strobe, strobe only and unit bedroom low frequency sounders, At the same time the digital communicator will transmit an alarm signal to a UL Central Monitoring Station with a zone location of where in the building the alarm was generated. Within 90 seconds the Central Station will notify Salem Fire Dispatch of the site and give a location of the alarm. There will be an outside beacon at the front annunciator to alert the fire department of the Fire Control location upon arrival. The sprinkler system gate valves and Low Street water PSI will transmit supervisory signals to monitor the status of the water pressure and valve -open or closed gate valves. The signal on the fire alarm control panel will notify the central station. Central Station will call the Management Company and Mystic Alarm of the trouble and or supervisory.
