IN SALEM, MA. THIS IS AN EXISTING RESIDENTIAL 3 STORY FRAMED BUILDING HOME OF COMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL CONSISTING OF RESIDENTIAL OCCUPANCY THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE AREA. THE PROPOSED NEW SPRINKLER SYSTEM SHALL BE CONNECTED TO THE NEW 2" SERVICE (PROVIDED BY OTHERS). THE SCOPE OF WORK CONSIST OF A NEW AUTOMATIC WET SPRINKLER SYSTEM THAT IS FED FROM THE RISER ASSEMBLY LOCATED ON THE FIRST FLOOR IN THE SPRINKLER ROOM. THE NEW BACKFLOW PREVENTER ARE LOCATED IN THIS ROOM. THE WET IS SUPPLYING THE ENTIRE BUILDING. THE SYSTEM SHALL BE DESIGNED AND HYDRAULICALLY CALCULATED ON THE THIRD FLOOR FOR RESIDENTIAL HAZARD OCCUPANCYAND SHALL PROVIDER A .05 DESIGN DENSITY FOR FOUR REMOTE HEADS WITH AN OUTSIDE HOSE OF 100 GPM. THE SYSTEM SHALL BE ACTIVATED WHEN A HEAT SOURCE WOULD FUSE A FIRE SPRINKLER HEAD, CAUSING THE HEAD TO OPEN AND FLOW WATER, WHICH SIMULTANEOUSLY TRIGGERS THE ALARM SYSTEM THAT WILL SIGNAL TO THE LOCAL FIRE DEPT. AND AN APPROVED CENTRAL LOCATION.
