G.01 THE "A" DRAWINGS ARE INTENDED TO SHOW ARCHITECTURAL CONFIGURATION & LAYOUT ONLY.
ALL OTHER DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION WORK (STRUCTURAL, ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL,
PLUMBING, ENERGY CONSERVATION, FIRE SPRINKLER AND FIRE PROTECTION)
SHALL BE BY OTHERS.
G.02 THIS WORK INVOLVES THE RENOVATION TO THE EXISTING BUILDING, REPLACEMENT OF AN EXISTING
REAR ADDITION WITH A NEW ADDITION WITHIN EXISTING AND/OR ALLOWED SETBACKS,
ADDITION OF A NEW SHED DORMERS AT THE ROOF, AND REPLACEMENT/MODIFICATION TO EXISTING
EXTERIOR STEPS AT THE 1ST FLOOR LEVEL. THE PROPOSED REPAIR AND ALTERATION WORK AND NEW
CONSTRUCTION IS COVERED UNDER 780 CMR. NINTH EDITION, INCLUDING THE 2015 INTERNATIONAL
BUILDING CODE, THE 2015 INTERNATIONAL EXISTING BUILDING CODE AND MASSACHUSETTS AMENDMENTS.
G.03 THE OWNER HAS STATED THAT AN NFPA 13R FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM, COMPLYING
WITH THE 2015 INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE, SECTION 903.3.1.2, WITH
MASSACHUSETTS AMENDMENTS, SHALL BE INSTALLED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE
BUILDING. THE ARCHITECTURAL LAYOUT IS BASED ON THIS ASSUMPTION.
G.04 THESE DRAWINGS ARE BASED ON MEASURED DRAWINGS & SURVEY PROVIDED BY
THE OWNER. NO VERIFICATION OF EXISTING CONDITIONS OR MEASUREMENTS HAVE
BEEN PERFORMED BY THE ARCHITECT.
G.05 CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL CONDITIONS AND DIMENSIONS IN THE FIELD PRIOR
TO THE START OF WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT. THE CONTRACTOR AND ALL
SUBCONTRACTORS SHALL CAREFULLY INSPECT THE EXISTING CONDITIONS AND
THE INSTALLED WORK OF ALL OTHER TRADES AND VERIFY THAT ALL SUCH WORK IS
COMPLETE TO THE POINT WHERE INSTALLATION MAY BE PROPERLY STARTED. IN
THE EVENT OF DISCREPANCY IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT. DO NOT
PROCEED WITH INSTALLATION IN AREAS OF DISCREPANCY UNTIL ALL SUCH
DISCREPANCIES HAVE BEEN FULLY RESOLVED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING THE WORK OF ALL TRADES.
G.06 CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL NECESSARY PERMITS AND
INSPECTIONS AND SHALL CONDUCT HIS WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL
APPLICABLE CODES AND REGULATIONS.
G.07 GENERALLY ALL ITEMS TO BE SUPPLIED AND/OR INSTALLED UNDER THIS WORK
SHALL BE INSTALLED LEVEL, PLUMB, AND TRUE TO LINE AND RADIUS WITH UNIFORM
JOINTS, UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY THE ARCHITECT. USE ONLY THE TYPES
OF EQUIPMENT, SHIMS, ROPES, WEDGES, SPACERS AND OTHER ITEMS DURING THE
INSTALLATION WHICH WILL NOT STAIN OR MAR THE FINISH.
G.08 CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSURE THAT DURING DEMOLITION AND/OR PROCESS OF THE
WORK, ADEQUATE BRACING, SHORING OR OTHER TEMPORARY SUPPORTS SHALL BE
UTILIZED SO AS TO MAINTAIN THE STRUCTURAL STABILITY OF THE BUILDING
WITHOUT DAMAGE TO SURFACES OR MEMBERS TO REMAIN.
G.09 ALL CUTTING AND PATCHING FOR MECHANICAL OR ELECTRICAL TRADES SHALL BE
DONE BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR OR BY THE SPECIALTY FINISH CONTRACTOR.
G.10 ALL INTERIOR FINISHES, CABINETS & COUNTERTOPS, DOORS & HARDWARE,
FIXTURES AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE BY OWNER.
