Re : abutters deck and pool
Dear Owners, My Assistant Bld. Inspector, Steve Cummings, shared with me your complaint
about the abutters pool deck. Although it appears that the deck is not in zoning compliance, the
deck has been there for at least 23 years. My understanding is that you have lived at 18 Wall
Street for 12 years. Because of the length of time that has transpired, The Zoning violation, if it
exists is not enforceable. The legal reference is MGL 40 A section 7. This office will not pursue
a zoning violation against 6 Henry Street
You have the right to challenge or appeal my refusal to act by filing an appeal with the Zoning
Board of Appeals here in Salem
